Studying to promote change11/17/2017 Exams are closer than they look like. Yeah. It is already November. Time flies and people ought to start getting ready for finals. UNAV offers the best motivation to start up: XV Olimpiada Solidaria de Estudio. This initiative comes from Tantaka and will take place from November 5th to December 5th. The aim of the campaign is to raise awareness regarding the privileges of education and its importance in the development of societies. This year, the funds will go to the project: Watoto vuelve a la escuela, promoted by ONGD coopera. The project wants to collect money in order to reintegrate children who have suffered armed warfare in Kivu Sur, Democratic Republic of Congo. How can students participate? During this month, the students who use the study rooms can donate their study hours to this motive. For every given hour, the organizations will give 1€ to the project. So, what better way to study than to contribute to a higher cause at the same time! I really encourage you to participate and feel blessed and grateful for being here! The MUN11/17/2017 Art is not what you see, but what you make other see. f you are an art lover you must take advantage of a lifetime opportunity the University of Navarra offers: be part of the MUN (Museo Universidad de Navarra). There are two ways to participate in the MUN: as an "embajador" (ambassador) or as a "guía" (guide). I have been both since I started college and my experience about how I see art and how I talk about it has changed completely. First of all, as "embajador" your work consists in promoting the MUN and arranging meetings, visits and spectacles with classmates and/or friends. Thus, you get to know a bunch of new people and improve your social skills. Likewise, as "guía" you give visits to any visitors desiring to know more about the MUN and the expositions, so you really need to understand the works of art and communicate your knowledge in an accessible and clear way, that is, make concepts easy to understand for your public. You might think it ss a lot of work, but the truth is that your co-workers understand your situation and always try to help you, you just need to talk to them and be open. In addition, the experience you acquire at the MUN is worthy because you will improve your communication skills significantly and your self-esteem will most surely boost. I have found that helping others to see and understand art is one of the most valuable and fulfilling activities. Furthermore, it is really easy to be part of the MUN; in fact, the directors love to have a lot of volunteers. You can contact them and ask for more information or you can visit them from Tuesday to Friday from 10 am to 8 pm. The entrance to the MUN is free for UNAV students and the daily guided visits start at 6pm. Also, you can go to the restaurant and enjoy the building or you can enjoy an spectacle. Whatever you choose is perfect, but what you should not do is to miss the opportunity of visiting the MUN!
